As a startup founder and an aspiring student, my journey through the NEET preparation phase was both enlightening and challenging. Enrolled in a well-known local coaching institute during the unprecedented times of COVID-19, my expectations for a robust educational experience were met with the reality of online classes—which, while necessary, were not quite up to the standard I had hoped for.

The Promise Versus The Reality

Initially drawn in by the impressive posters featuring top-performing students, my family and I were swayed by the coaching center’s marketing prowess. These posters, often showcasing the same 'star' student across various institutes, create a visual promise of success, which is a common marketing strategy not just in my city but globally. However, the actual experience diverged significantly from these expectations.

The Structure of Coaching Classes

Two weeks into the course, the structural flaws of the coaching system began to surface. The institute operated on a dual-batch system which became a critical point of contention:

  • Rankers Batch: Comprised of top students selected through an ongoing assessment process, this batch received additional resources and attention, effectively grooming them for banner-worthy success.

  • Bankers Batch: Contrarily, this batch seemed to function as the financial backbone of the institution, where students, including myself, felt sidelined, their fees purportedly used to subsidize the Rankers' enhanced learning experience.

Navigating The Educational Divide

This dichotomy not only highlighted the inequality embedded within the coaching system but also prompted me to question the efficacy and ethics of such educational practices. The realization that resources were disproportionately allocated often to the detriment of many students’ learning potential was disheartening.

A Founder's Perspective on Solutions

From a founder's perspective, I learned valuable lessons about the importance of transparency, equality, and the genuine value of customer (student) satisfaction—principles I now uphold in my own ventures. For those considering coaching classes, I recommend:

  • Taking a Demo Lecture: Ensure the teaching style and content meet your expectations.

  • Conducting Thorough Research: Speak to current and former students to understand their experiences.

  • Evaluating Comprehension: Most importantly, assess whether you can truly understand and learn from the teaching provided.

Conclusion: Learning and Leading Forward

My experience with NEET coaching was more than just a preparatory phase for exams; it was a lesson in critical thinking and business ethics that have shaped my approach as an entrepreneur. In my ventures, I strive to cultivate an environment where fairness and quality are not just advertised but ingrained in every practice.
